Abstract

|
Severe systemic and chronic disorder accompanying malnutrition such as IDDM (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) is Known to be associated with delayed puberty. In general, post-pubertal blood glucose levels are higher and more fluctuating than
in
prepuberty. Post-pubertal uncontrolled hyperglycemia in patients with IDDM is reported to facilitate the development of diabetic complications and to delay puberty. A case of delayed puberty in IDDM is reported with a brief review of literatures.
